In the Picot family, I would like the mother, Marion, 39 years old, early childhood educator, the father, Steeve, 40 years old, travel agent and their three children: Méloée, Solal and Linoa, respectively, 12, 8 and 5 years old. Their time? They spend it near Nantes… except for the holidays!
Campers at heart, for 4 years they have spent their summer holidays traveling and discovering the campsites of the “La Via Natura” association.
It all started in 1980, in the Gorges du Tarn. Brigitte & Michel, Marion’s parents, arrived for their honeymoon at the Cerisiers campsite. It was love at first sight! They had spent a large part of their summer holidays there for 45 years. Marion was born and took her first steps there in 1986! She then regularly spent her childhood summers there.
In the summer of 2003, she came there for the first time with her partner Steeve, who would become her husband. Won over in turn by the family spirit that reigns there, the atmosphere, and the commitment of Manu, the owner, resolutely turned towards eco-responsible tourism. They come back every year, in ever-increasing numbers!
It was through the adhesion of this campsite in 2009 to the network of campsites “La Via Natura”, that they discovered, like other campers, this responsible vacation mode.
Adherents to this eco-tourism and the family finally complete, they plan to become Via Naturants. And it is in 2022 that they begin their tour of France of La Via Natura campsites… with the Rêve campsite in Vigan (Lot) then the Pré-Fixe campsite in Cassagnabère-Tournas (31) for their summer 2023 vacation, and finally the Volcans in Aydat (Auvergne), in 2024.
If you ask them why they are satisfied with each of their stays at the “Via”, they will tell you this: “In all the campsites in the network, small in size, the connection with nature and its protection is undeniable. We find there what we are looking for…
Owners with strong human values, both towards us, the campers, and towards their teammates, friendliness, a lot of generosity… A positive simplicity! One of their great riches is this desire to share their region, their territory, their little tips and their little secret corners…”
For sure, this tour of France is only just beginning, and the next destination of the “Picot” could well be in Brittany, on the edge of a lake where “Fairies” live, at Isabelle and Stéphane’s…
